MakeupAI - Face Data Policy

This section specifically addresses how MakeupAI handles face data and facial imagery.

Face Data Collection

MakeupAI accesses photos containing faces that you voluntarily select from your device's photo library or capture using your device's camera. The app temporarily processes facial features within these images solely to generate AI-powered makeup visualizations. We do not collect, extract, or store biometric identifiers or facial recognition data.

Use of Face Data

Face data is used exclusively for the following purpose:

• To send your selected photo to Google's Gemini AI service for processing and generating makeup visualization results
• To display the AI-generated makeup results back to you within the app

Your face data is not used for advertising, marketing, user profiling, facial recognition, identity verification, or any purpose other than generating the makeup visualization you requested.

Third-Party Sharing and Storage

Your photos containing face data are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI service solely for the purpose of generating makeup visualizations. Google processes this data according to their privacy policy and data handling practices. We use Firebase (a Google service) for our backend infrastructure. However, your original photos and face data are not stored on our servers or Firebase storage. We do not sell, share, or disclose your face data to any other third parties.

Data Storage and Retention

MakeupAI does not store your photos or face data on any external servers. All images (both original photos and AI-generated results) are stored exclusively on your device's local storage. Photos are transmitted to Gemini AI only during active processing and are not retained by our application after the makeup visualization is complete. You maintain full control over your images and can delete them from your device at any time. When you delete the app, all locally stored images associated with MakeupAI are removed from your device.

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your face data. You can:

• Choose which photos to use with the app
• Delete any images stored on your device at any time
• Revoke camera or photo library permissions through your device settings
• Uninstall the app to remove all associated local data

Unhook - Accounts and Screen Time

This section specifically addresses how Unhook handles your account, your progress, and the Screen Time data the app works with.

What Never Leaves Your Device

Unhook is built on Apple's Screen Time framework, which is designed so that apps like Unhook cannot see your usage data. Specifically:

• Which apps you block is never known to us. When you pick apps, Apple gives Unhook opaque tokens, not app names. Those tokens are stored only on your device and are never uploaded.
• Your screen time, pickups, and app usage are never collected. The usage figures shown in Unhook are rendered by Apple inside a sandbox that Unhook itself cannot read from. We have no access to these numbers.

Your Account

Unhook asks you to sign in with Apple to create an account. When you do, we store:

• An account identifier, used to recognize your account and to let you delete it
• Your email address and name, only if you chose to share them with us through Sign in with Apple. Apple's "Hide My Email" option is fully supported.
• A display name, if you choose to add one in Settings
• Your member number, the date your account was created, and the app version you last signed in from

Progress and Settings Backup

So that your progress can follow you to a new phone, Unhook backs up the following to your account: your lifetime focus totals (XP, sessions completed, focus minutes), your streak, your preferences (appearance, sounds, haptics, daily goal), and the definitions of your blocking rules (schedule names and times, daily limits, strict mode settings). Rule definitions do not include which apps they apply to; those stay on your device as described above.

Feedback

If you send feedback from within the app, we store your message together with your app version, iOS version, and device model so that we can investigate it, and your email address if Apple shared one so that we can reply. Feedback is read only by us and is never shared.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat and Superwall to manage subscription status and to present the paywall; they receive your purchase history, not linked to your identity. We never see your payment details.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Account, backup, and feedback data are stored using Firebase, a service provided by Google, on servers located in the United States. Google processes this data on our behalf according to its own privacy policy. Access to your data is restricted so that only your own account can read or write it.

No Tracking, No Ads, No Selling

Unhook contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for marketing purposes.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. This permanently removes your account, your backup, and your feedback from our servers, revokes the Sign in with Apple connection, and erases all Unhook data on your device. Signing out keeps your account and your local data intact. You can also request deletion by emailing us at the address below.
