Face Data Collection

MakeupAI accesses photos containing faces that you voluntarily select from your device's photo library or capture using your device's camera. The app temporarily processes facial features within these images solely to generate AI-powered makeup visualizations. We do not collect, extract, or store biometric identifiers or facial recognition data.

Use of Face Data

Face data is used exclusively for the following purpose:

  • To send your selected photo to Google's Gemini AI service for processing and generating makeup visualization results
  • To display the AI-generated makeup results back to you within the app

Your face data is not used for advertising, marketing, user profiling, facial recognition, identity verification, or any purpose other than generating the makeup visualization you requested.

Third-Party Sharing and Storage

Your photos containing face data are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI service solely for the purpose of generating makeup visualizations. Google processes this data according to their privacy policy and data handling practices. We use Firebase (a Google service) for our backend infrastructure. However, your original photos and face data are not stored on our servers or Firebase storage. We do not sell, share, or disclose your face data to any other third parties.

Data Storage and Retention

MakeupAI does not store your photos or face data on any external servers. All images (both original photos and AI-generated results) are stored exclusively on your device's local storage. Photos are transmitted to Gemini AI only during active processing and are not retained by our application after the makeup visualization is complete. You maintain full control over your images and can delete them from your device at any time. When you delete the app, all locally stored images associated with MakeupAI are removed from your device.

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your face data. You can:

  • Choose which photos to use with the app
  • Delete any images stored on your device at any time
  • Revoke camera or photo library permissions through your device settings
  • Uninstall the app to remove all associated local data
